Curriculum Statement
The curriculum at Amery Hill School is designed such that it will:
- Help students to acquire the knowledge and skills required to achieve success in every subject that they study;
- Create confident and resilient learners, who are able to apply their skills and knowledge in unfamiliar situations;
- Provide high levels of academic rigour, with appropriate aspiration and challenge for all students.This will be delivered in an environment where all students are supported to achieve their personal best;
- Promote the moral, social and cultural development of every student through our Education for Life programme.
Our curriculum is based on the National Curriculum, and the relevant exam board specifications and goes beyond lessons to include a strong co-curricular programme and engaging daily interactions. It is ambitious and challenging, offering knowledge and skills for all students. Key Stage 3 provides a broad and balanced foundation. At the end of Year 8, students choose options for Year 9, transitioning during that year to GCSE courses in core and optional subjects. Our curriculum prepares students for further study or work, ensuring fulfilling futures.
